Strathaven is an attractive traditional country town on the A71, five miles south of junction 8, situated amidst beautiful, picturesque countryside. It is within easy reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, making it an ideal location for a national event. We set up road signs at the entrances to the town, pointing to the festival location, in the centre of our town.

The very attractive John Hastie and George Allan Parks, where our Balloon Festival is based, have good visitor facilities; car parking, a pavilion, bandstand, boating pond, children's play areas, tennis courts, putting and bowling greens and a famous miniature railway.
