Strathaven

Strathaven
is a popular market town on the A71, five miles south of junction 8, situated amidst picturesque countryside. It is within easy reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, making it an ideal location for a national event

Road signs at the entrances to the town, point to the festival location

The park has good visitor facilities; car parking, a pavilion, bandstand, boating pond, children's play areas, tennis courts, putting and bowling greens and a miniature railway

Strathaven is an attractive town with wonderful local businesses (it is a Fairtrade town), including excellent bakers, butchers, greengrocers and beauty salons.

There is a strong sense of community and a range of organised events throughout the year, including Burns Suppers at the start of the year, Gala week in summer, the Annual Exposition and Cattle Show in September and a Christmas Spectacular in December

There are excellent sports facilities, including a renowned golf course, rugby pitches, football grounds, swimming pool, fitness centre and, just outside the town, quad bikes at Kypeside, air rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, paintballing and even a taiko dojo
